We built the tank we could not find

ShaperCore started with a plain problem. You put on a shirt you like, look in the mirror, and the shirt catches in the one place you did not want it to. So you change. Then you change again. Then you wear the same dark shirt you always wear.

We went looking for something to wear underneath. What we found fell into two groups.

The cheap ones were thin vests with a tight label. They squeezed for an hour, rolled up by lunchtime, and did nothing for the line of a shirt. The expensive ones were closer to medical wear — stiff, hot, and obvious under anything lighter than a jumper.

Neither was a thing you would actually wear every day. So we made one.

What we cared about

Three things, in this order.

It has to work. Real compression across the midsection and chest, and a panel across the back that takes the slouch out of your shoulders. Not fabric that is merely tight.

It has to disappear. Flat seams and a thin knit, so under a dress shirt it reads as a plain undershirt. If anyone can tell, it has failed.

It has to be wearable all day. A moisture-wicking knit and a longer cut that tucks in and stays down. Something you put on at seven and forget about, not something you are counting down to taking off.

What we are not claiming

This is a piece of clothing. It shapes your torso while you have it on, and that is the whole of it.

It is not a medical device. It will not make you lose weight, and it does not change anything about your body once you take it off. Anyone telling you a tank top does that is selling you something else.

What it does do is give you the line you want under the shirt you want to wear, on the day you want to wear it. For most men that turns out to be enough.

How we sell it

We are a small team and we answer our own email. There is one product, in five colours and five sizes, at one price. No members club, no subscription you have to remember to cancel.

If it is not for you, you have 60 days to say so and we send back 100% of your money. If you just picked the wrong size, we swap it and pay the return shipping.

That is the entire arrangement.
